For instance, in Internet Explorer 8 or 9, you may use the Edit with Microsoft SharePoint Designer option on the Page menu, as shown in Figure 7.19. Where SharePoint Designer is not installed, clicking the Edit in SharePoint Designer option attempts to redirect you to download the application from the Microsoft download site. If you are an administrator or site collection administrator then the option to edit sites in SharePoint Designer still appears in the Site Actions menu even if SharePoint Designer 2010 is not installed on your computer.
